Tonkinese – crossing a Siamese breed with a Burmese

Tokinese race is a new breed, which  was resulted from crossing a Siamese with a Burmese , presenting such Tonkinese1characteristics from both breeds. It was first developed in America in the 50s, called Golden Siamese , but  the  race hasn’t  gained popularity, being ignored over time. Only in the 60 reappeared as the Tonkinese, their  popularity were growing, getting to be preferred as pets and  at exhibition. They  have gained full recognition in America in 1975.

Morphological traits

Tonkinese is a medium sized cat. The head is slightly rounded, of medium width. Seen in profile, the nose appears obliquely, pointing to a firm chin. The ears are well apart, being wider at the base, thinning toward the tip, slightly rounded. Outline of the ear follows the line, face up to its base. The eyes are far and as more open than those targeted but not completely round, and are slightly inclined towards the nose. Eyes exhibition cats are  like  greenish blue, but colors can vary from green to blue. Copulation is well balanced, strong and muscular, and the posterior is slightly elevated. The legs are thin and muscular and the rear limbs are slightly longer than the front. The paws are oval and Tonkinese2arranged his fingers. The tail is supple, and when brought along the body reaches the cat’s shoulders. Race Tonkinese doesn’t have any health issues  being  able to live long and active life. It is recommended, as in the other races, a routine annual inspection at the  veterinary officers to check the kidney and the liver.

Character and behavior
Tonkinese cats as  the race have the same nature as friendly and related breeds, Siamese and Burmese.  They are ideal as a family animal and they are oriented to the human company. They are very vigorous and intelligent. Can be trained to do various tricks and they need toys and games for fun. They like to always have company and, if need to be left alone for a longer period of time, a companion is essential. No noisy cats, love to spin near the master and to follow him everywhere. Their natural curiosity often putTonkinese3s them in difficult situations,  and it would be better to limit access to outside the house, especially if you do not have a good garden closed. It  doesn’t bothers them to be house cats as long as they have a companion and many toys with which to occupy their time.

Tonkinese cats in the breed does not require special care, whereas it has  short coat  that is easy self-maintenance, yet enjoyed the attention that is given by care. The coat should be short and attached to the body. The texture is smooth, soft and silky, with a glossy sheen. Types of fur require that the , mask, ears, feet and tail to be darker than the body.

Chausie is a very intelligent cat’s breed.

Chausie1Race Chausie  is seen as one of the most beautiful breed. He appeared as a hybrid of the African jungle cat (Felis Chaus-Right) and has captured attention with its beautiful golden or black fur,  She was recently domesticated. Jungle cat is a useful race and a survivor. Bigger than a small cat, weighing between 8 and 15 kg. Chausie breed derived from the name of scientific name of the the jungle cat. Chausie race is set up as an effort to preserve the appearance of wild, domestic cats by creating a loving and friendly domestic cat.
Race Chausie is a relatively  a new breed, registered by TICA in July 1995. Currently, race “struggle” for the  status of a champion and continue to grow in popularity. Size, appearance and way of being, betray the wild origins.

Morphological traits

Chausie race is renowned for the amazing speed and the vertical leap of nearly six feet. Cats are flat, having a considerable width between shoulders. They are tall, slender and they have very long feet from the rear, somewhat higher than the front. The cats from this  race should be two times  bigger in length than in height. Also, Chausie is two times higher than other domestic cats and may be two or even three times as heavy. Males weigh more than females. Chausie2
The body is big and long, with heavy bones, full chest, broad and strong muscles, with moderately long legs. The fur is relatively short, only three colors of the breed being recognized the ones that are found at the jungle cats: black, gold and silver with black spots. Kittens presents usually spots or stripes on the fur, which will blur as they grow, remaining visible only the stripes and spots on the face and legs.

Character and behavior

Cats of Chausie race are  a very intelligent breed, often behaving like dogs. They are very affectionate, loyal and loving with the masters, children or other pets. In particular, are known for their amazing speed and jump in height to 1.80 meters .Chausie cats have a sweet nature, very affectionate. Alert and intelligent, often like the behavior of the dogs. Chausie is extremely loyal and loving towards the  closer people, and mean great with other pets. Muscle structure it gives an  athletic and fast look. Very rarely Chausie3manages to stay in one place for a longer period of time.  The wild appearance and  the personality of this breed quickly captured people’s hearts. Chausie owners know that this is a very special cat.

Varieties

Currently, there are only three recognized colors of Chausie cat, all the common colors of  the jungle cats. They are: gold, black and silver with black spots. Kittens usually have spots or stripes on the fur. As the kittens mature, the signs of the body are blurred. Streaks and spots on the legs and face should, however, be visible on the adult cats fur.
The purpose of the  breeding program is to replicate Chausie African jungle cat in as many details as possible while keeping the appearance of the wild cats, even the Egyptians admired this breed and they have included it in their works of art. Tall, big ears and golden color, black or silver they are all common features of the breed Chausie and the jungle cat.

Russian Blue – natural cat breed

RussBlue2This cat is a rare and precious. It is a natural breed, without being the result of man-directed selection. It is  said that  this cat would have been preferable for countries and Cossack warriors that  used to start the battle with restless cats with claws on their backs. The first information about the race from is from1860, when she arrived in the UK brought  by the ships arriving from the Russian port of Arkhangelsk, through the White Sea. World War II represents a period of stagnation in all breeds, the rare  ones being right on the point of extinction. Race is held in growth as an ascending Englishwoman, and since the ’50s, a group of British and Scandinavian breeders try to save the race, calling the cross with twins blue point. In 1965  the results of the selection approaches to that of a standard before the First World War. In the U.S., the breed is registered with CFA in the early twentieth century until 1960 but rarely participated in exhibitions of cats

This race, by some authors, is based on the old cat Arkhangelsk, which was matted with blue conjoined twins and after a rigorous selection has managed to obtain a genetically, population , which was standardized in 1965.

Medium-sized breed with short hair, is characterized by a rectangular head, long and relatively flat, wide forehead and fronted-nasal line is right, which form an evident angle. The ears are well distances between the base and slightly loose .They are sharp, transparent, fine and covered by fine thick hairs. The eyes are large, open, expressive, almond-shaped, ranging in color from glossy green to  emerald green. The neck is  well developed and connected to the head and torso.

The trunk is  long, well developed, balanced, covered by a compact muscle, it is supported by long  and strong limbs, and it  ends with hard and sharp claws. The tail is long, straight, smooth, and thins towards the terminal. The body is covered with short hair, often thin, and slightly elevated compared to the trunk, otherwise characteristic of the breed. Coat color is blue-gray, silver shot, focused mainly on animal movement.

Character and conduct.

RussBlue3It is one of the best cats for growth in small spaces because of the special qualities they have. It  is a calm pet, clean and very affectionate, living in total agreement with the owner .The cat, highly intelligent, guesses  from the eyes of her  master if she can make a particular action.

Very playful in his youth, with age, becomes  more quiet, dealing more with the daily toilet .She is a good companion not only for family members, but also for other animals, with whom agrees to share time and interests . It is particularly human company, but avoids too loud children, or who behave in a more brutal way.

It is  an extremely resistant animal to low temperatures, however she prefers to sit near a source of heat . Less squeamish, responds very well to a variety of food. It has great desire to eat and can be prone to obesity, so it would be good to be given carefully rations. Generally not a dainty cat. Like any breed with short hair,  the care  require special attention, but coat must be brushed regularly with a soft brush.

Maine Coon – intelligent cat’s breed

Although controversy still exists on its origin, it is certain that the race is set for more than a century on American Maine Coonearth .One  of the variants consider that  this race would come from cats shipped in the U.S. by Marie Antoinette, who suffered  changes over the time, as a result of  the conditions from this continent.

Morphological traits.

Maine Coon cat is a large breed, weighing 5 kg can reach the female, and 7 kg by the male .The body is very solid, muscular, strong , long and round, which threads between the hair fingers .With all this massive growth, is still make a graceful movement and it shows  exterior elegance .The back is strong, wide, well dressed in muscles, which have the relevance of a born  hunter .The tail is medium length and is very bushy .  The cape of the cat has a suitable width, round cheekbones and placed in superior zones .The ears are large, proportional, with rounded tops and worn straight .The chin is strong and the front-nasal line presents a slightly lower area. The eyes are well developed, large, open, Maine Coon2oval, bright and with a variety of colors, predominantly yellow and green .No matter the color of the eyes , they must be in perfect harmony with  the robe .The hair is medium length, often and shiny, silky texture and smooth. In shoulder length, hair length is lower compared with the rest of the body .The colors are numerous and of these, 25 are provided in standard, which  also  added  a variety of combinations.

Character and behavior.

It is an intelligent cat breed, gentle, affectionate and playful, it is at the same time very sly, if not too harsh. Maine Coon cat is a breed that adapts well to home life, but will feel better if we could give him a house with garden and some of the spectacular trees .She likes to climb and  will not be any surprise if we see the cat on  cabinets or other furniture  items . They are reserve towards strangers and  very well attached  to family members, of whom choose one that she prefer more.
