Bombay breed – cats like a black panther

Bombay cat may look like a miniature black panther, but the cat is completely domesticated. A relatively rare breed,  Bombay3Bombay cat breeders  is very popular due to its external appearance and submissive personality. Black and insightful brown eyes, this breed combines the appearance and personality with  black color  American Burmese uniform short hair, the  black variety. Bombay Race is a creation of  Nikki Horner. Ascending and exhibits since the age of 16 years, Horner has paired awarded the American Shorthair cats, Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan, Persian and conjoined twins, to get a cat that has crowned his career. Around 1950, while her mate and American Burmese short hair black, put on a conception about Burma, with glossy black fur and brown eyes  insightful – a kind of miniature panther. As Horner imagined it would look like an Indian black leopard, she has called the cat after the city Bombay (now Mumbai). In India, black cat is considered to be good luck and wealth, contrary to European superstition under which it would be a sign of bad luck and brings misfortune.
The breed is recognized by these associations and international organizations: American Association of Cat Enthusiasts (AACE) American Cat Association (ACA) American Cat Fancier’s Association (ACFA) Canadian Cat Association (CCA) Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) as Fanciers ‘Federation (CFF), the National Cat Fanciers’ Association (NCFA), The International Cat Association (TICA) United Feline Organization (UFO) and the Association of Romanian Cats (AFR). In Europe, the breed is recognized by independent clubs in Holland, France and Belgium.

Morphological traits
Bombay2Bombay is famous for her fur which is like the skin and  brown eyes. Cat Bombay today is   medium size, bone and muscular, a cat that looks surprisingly robust for its size. The head has a nice round shape with sharp angles, the eyes well separated. The muzzle is broad and slightly rounded. The ears are rounded and well separated from each other. Eye color is from gold to copper shades. The tail is straight and medium length.
There are two patterns conformational Bombay cat’s head, traditional and contemporary.  Traditional Bombay Cat  has a longer and narrower muzzle in comparison with the contemporary. Fur, is one of the most beautiful features of the race, is fine and makes good adhesion to the body, like a gloss varnish. Fur is short and silky and it  feels  like velvet .

Character and behavior
Like the Burmese, Bombay cats require constant attention, following its master everywhere to obombay1btain it. Extremely sociable and affectionate, Bombay cats tend to love the whole family rather than to create a strong connection with only one person. Cat lovers say that these cats are, in particular, tolerant with children.
Bombay cats have inherited traits from both races that led to their formation. Like the Burmese, Bombay cats are playful and intelligent. As American short hair, are temperamentally balanced and less talkative than  noisy Burmese. Bombay cat is not happy if  left alone for long periods, so it’s best to  got her a mate to keep her company.

Varieties

Only a variety of color and pattern is accepted – compact black. To maintain the desired type of fur, head and body conformation, Bombay cat breeders crosses with colored  samurai Burmese.

Snowshoe is very friendly breed.

Snowshoe1Snowshoe is an American race, which resulted from crossing Siamese breed with Shorthair American race in the 60′s. Cat breeders have recognized the unique beauty of this cat and insured the perpetuation of this breed, the gene is now quite widespread. Currently, Snowshoe breed popularity is growing both in America and across the world.

Morphological traits

Snowshoe is a medium sized cat, which combines the robustness of the breed American Shorthair cats with fragile elegance of the Siamese cat. The head is broad, cheekbones are high and have  a line contour . The  average size is slightly rounded as much as it is wide and long. At the male protruding jaw and bone structure are allowed. Head size is proportional to the torso and limbs. Ears are medium size, slightly rounded tips, are alert and very wide at the base, continuing a line on the ears of the skull. Her eyes were oval or peanut, not prominent and are focused on the ears. It accepted any shade of blue is preferable that bright. The muzzle is proportional to the Snowshoe2size of the head and presents a fine stop.  The nose is neither too broad nor too narrow, but proportional to the head. The body has an average length, there is no stuff, no delicate. It is well proportioned, with well developed skeletal and muscular structure, powerful, agile. Males have a medium to large size, and females are proportionately smaller than males. Limbs are proportionate to the body and the skeletal system is well structured. Feet are proportionate to the limbs and torso to form oval. Presents five fingers on the front and four at the rear. The tail has a mean width at the base, , is proportional to the length of the body. Snowshoe is a cat with short fur with white markings on legs that have given the breed name (snow = snow, shoe  =shoe) and a letter V shape pattern that starts back in the center of the forehead and down to the muzzle.

Character and behavior:
Snowshoe is an intelligent cat that loves human company. They are ideal pets, following his master around the house,Snowshoe3 “talking” on a gentle and melodic tone. Her personality varies from one sample to another but generally Snowshoe is a friendly animal whose main features are intelligence and mystical air of detachment, the latter being an oriental feature. It is a very communicative cat that feels good in the company of men, but also of its siblings. She adores  apartment life.
Snowshoe cats of breed does not require special care, but enjoy the attention given by care. The fur is short and may experience more shades, the most common being blue point and seal point, both in combination with white. Must be smooth to the touch and attached to the body.

Varieties

Color “mask”, the tail, the ears and limbs must be dense and well defined. All these areas must have the same hue. “Mask” should cover the whole face (except the white areas) and continue to ears by marking contoured. Ideal pattern of the face should include white muzzle form a V back, and feet must present  symmetrical white “socks”.
